Privacy Policy

Trails in Print is built to need as little about you as possible. There are no accounts, no advertising and no tracking cookies, and your card details go to Stripe, never to us. This policy explains the little we do handle.

  1. Who we are

Indigo Labs Limited (72 Aldershot Road, Fleet, Hampshire GU51 3FT, England) is responsible for your personal data on Trails in Print. For anything about it, email info@indigolabs.studio.

  2. What we handle, and why

    • Your route and settings. We keep the route’s name and coordinates (not its times, heights or anything else in your GPX file) and your settings, to build your model and its files. A route is location data and often starts and ends at home, so you may want to trim the ends before uploading. We use it only to provide the service you ask for.
    • An anonymous ID. When you start a design, Firebase Authentication gives your browser a random ID so your designs and purchases stay yours. It isn’t linked to your name.
    • Your orders. When you buy, Stripe tells us your email address, what you paid (including VAT) and the payment’s reference. We keep them with your order to supply your files, to help if something goes wrong, and because tax law requires records of sales. We don’t send marketing emails.
    • Server logs. Like most websites, our servers record requests, including your IP address and browser, to keep the service secure and stop abuse. That’s in our legitimate interest in running a safe service.

We don’t use analytics or advertising, and we never sell your data or share it for marketing.

  3. Cookies and your browser’s storage

We don’t set cookies. The site keeps a few things in your browser’s storage because it can’t work without them: your anonymous ID, your basket, and the file format you chose while you’re at the checkout. As they’re strictly necessary, they don’t need your consent.

Stripe’s checkout page, on Stripe’s own website, uses its own cookies to take your payment and prevent fraud. The map of your route loads its map tiles from OpenStreetMap’s servers, which see your IP address and the area shown.

  4. Who else handles it

    • Google Cloud and Firebase host the site and store designs, orders, files and logs on our behalf. Designs, orders and files are stored in London; sign-in and the network that serves the site run worldwide.
    • Stripe takes payments and is responsible for the payment details it collects (see Stripe’s privacy policy).
    • Mapbox supplies the terrain. Our servers ask it for the heights and land cover of the area around your route; it doesn’t learn who you are.
    • The OpenStreetMap Foundation serves the map tiles described above.

Some of these providers handle data outside the UK, for example in the United States. Where they do, it’s protected by UK adequacy regulations (such as the UK–US data bridge) or the UK’s standard data protection clauses.

  5. How long we keep it

    • Designs you haven’t bought anything for: deleted 30 days after you last change them.
    • Designs with bought versions: kept for a year after your latest purchase, so you can download them again.
    • Print files: deleted within 8 days of being generated.
    • Orders, with your email address: 6 years, as tax law requires. Checkouts you don’t finish: 30 days.
    • Server logs: 30 days.
  6. Your rights

You can ask to see the data we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, or to object to how we use it. Email info@indigolabs.studio. As there are no accounts, we may ask for your design’s link or your Stripe receipt so we can find it. We’ll keep order records for as long as tax law requires, even if you ask us to delete them.

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk, though we’d appreciate the chance to put things right first.

  7. Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top. Our terms of service cover buying and using your print files.
