Terms of Service

These terms apply when you buy print files from Trails in Print. We’ve kept them short and plain; if anything is unclear, just ask. Nothing in them affects your legal rights as a consumer.

  1. Who we are

Trails in Print is run by Indigo Labs Limited, a company registered in England and Wales (number 08835375), whose registered office is at 72 Aldershot Road, Fleet, Hampshire GU51 3FT, England. Our VAT number is GB261984867. You can reach us at info@indigolabs.studio.

  2. What you’re buying

Designing a model is free. What you pay for are the print files for a version of your trail: 3D model files (STL, 3MF, or OBJ with MTL) built from the route you upload and the settings you choose. We don’t print or post anything.

A version is one combination of the settings that change the model’s shape, such as its size, base shape, relief, terrain style, trail and how it’s split into parts. Colours and file format don’t count, so once a version is yours you can download it again in any format and colours.

The preview in your browser is a lighter copy of the same model. The files are built at full resolution, so fine detail can look a little different.

  3. Prices and payment

Prices are in pounds sterling and include VAT. Buying several versions of a trail together costs less for each, and you see the total before you pay. Payments are taken by Stripe; we never see your card details.

Your order is accepted, and our contract made, when your payment goes through. If a payment fails or you leave the checkout, you aren’t charged and nothing is supplied.

  4. Your right to cancel

You can usually cancel an online purchase within 14 days. With digital content such as print files, that right ends once we start supplying it, if you’ve asked us to start straight away and accepted that you’ll lose it.

At checkout, we ask you to do exactly that, because your files start generating as soon as you’ve paid. So once they’re ready to download, you can’t cancel the order or get your money back because you’ve changed your mind. This doesn’t affect your rights if a file is faulty (see If something is wrong with your files).

  5. Printing your model

The files are what we supply. How a print turns out depends on things outside our control: your printer and how well it’s calibrated, its nozzle, your slicer and its settings, and the filament you use.

That matters most where parts fit together. If you print the trail separately from the terrain, or the model as a jigsaw, how snugly the pieces fit depends on your printer’s precision. The Insert fit setting adds or removes clearance; we suggest printing a small test piece first.

We recommend PLA or PLA+ for the best balance of quality and price, but the accuracy of your printer makes the biggest difference.

So we can’t promise a particular result on a particular printer, and we don’t give refunds for prints that come out poorly, or for pieces that fit too tightly or too loosely, when the files themselves are sound.

  6. If something is wrong with your files

By law, the files must be of satisfactory quality, fit for purpose and as described. A file is faulty if, for example, it won’t open, isn’t a printable solid, is missing parts, or doesn’t match the version you bought.

If that happens, email info@indigolabs.studio with your Stripe receipt and tell us what’s wrong. We’ll check the file and regenerate or repair it. If we can’t put it right within a reasonable time and without significant inconvenience to you, we’ll refund you in full or in part.

  7. Getting your files

Your files appear on your trail’s page in the browser you bought them in, usually within a minute or two of paying. Each download stays available for 7 days. After that you can generate the files again, in any format and colours, for as long as we keep the design: a year after your latest purchase.

There are no accounts: your designs are linked to the browser you made them in, so keep your files somewhere safe. If you lose access, email us with your Stripe receipt and we’ll help.

  8. Your route and the files

Only upload routes you have the right to use; your route stays yours. The files are for your own use: print them for yourself or to give as presents. Please don’t share or sell the files, or sell prints made from them, without asking us first.

  9. Our responsibility to you

If we break these terms or fail to use reasonable care, we’re responsible for loss or damage you suffer that was foreseeable. We aren’t responsible for loss that wasn’t foreseeable, or for business losses: Trails in Print is for personal use.

We aren’t responsible for failed prints, wasted filament or wear on your printer. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law doesn’t allow us to limit.

  10. Changes to the service and these terms

We may change Trails in Print and these terms from time to time. The terms in force when you pay are the ones that apply to that order. We try to keep the service running, but it may sometimes be unavailable.

  11. Law and complaints

If something goes wrong, please email info@indigolabs.studio first and we’ll do our best to put it right. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. You can take court action in England and Wales, or in the part of the UK where you live.

Our privacy policy explains what we do with your route and order details.
